SAFA TV Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SAFA TV ("the Platform"), an online sports streaming service owned and operated by the Scottish Amateur Football Association ("SAFA", "we", "our" or "us").

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, accessing or using SAFA TV, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.


2. About SAFA TV

SAFA TV is the official streaming platform of the Scottish Amateur Football Association, providing live and on-demand coverage of amateur football matches, highlights, interviews and related media content.

SAFA reserves the right to add, remove or modify any content or services available on the Platform without prior notice.


3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian, to create an account.

By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and complete.


4. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.
  • All activity carried out using your account.
  • Keeping your contact information up to date.

You must notify SAFA immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

SAFA reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts where these Terms are breached.


5. Subscriptions and Payments

Where paid services are offered:

  • Subscription prices are displayed before purchase.
  • Payments must be made using approved payment methods.
  • Access begins once payment has been successfully processed.
  • Subscription fees include VAT where applicable unless otherwise stated.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

You may cancel renewal at any time through your account before your next renewal date.

Cancellation prevents future billing but does not normally result in a refund for the current subscription period.


6. Refunds

Refunds are considered in accordance with applicable consumer legislation.

Where you have immediately accessed streamed digital content following purchase, you acknowledge that your statutory cancellation rights may be affected under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.


7. Availability of Service

SAFA aims to provide reliable access to the Platform but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Streaming quality may be affected by:

  • Internet connectivity
  • Network congestion
  • Device compatibility
  • Venue infrastructure
  • Equipment failures
  • Weather conditions
  • Events beyond our reasonable control

Scheduled maintenance may occasionally interrupt service.


8. Changes to Fixtures

Football fixtures may be:

  • Postponed
  • Cancelled
  • Abandoned
  • Rescheduled
  • Relocated

SAFA is not responsible for changes made by clubs, leagues, competition organisers or governing bodies.

Where reasonably possible, affected broadcasts will be updated or replaced.


9. Intellectual Property

All content available on SAFA TV, including but not limited to:

  • Live broadcasts
  • Match footage
  • Highlights
  • Commentary
  • Graphics
  • Logos
  • Branding
  • Music
  • Photography
  • Video production
  • Website content

is owned by or licensed to SAFA and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws.

No content may be copied, downloaded, reproduced, edited, distributed, retransmitted or commercially exploited without prior written permission from SAFA.


10. Personal Use Only

Access to SAFA TV is granted solely for personal, private and non-commercial viewing.

Users must not:

  • Publicly screen broadcasts without written permission.
  • Restream broadcasts.
  • Record and redistribute content.
  • Upload broadcasts to social media or video-sharing websites.
  • Sell access to broadcasts.
  • Circumvent subscription systems.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for unlawful purposes.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems.
  • Introduce malicious software.
  • Interfere with Platform security.
  • Harass or abuse staff or other users.
  • Use automated systems to scrape or download content.
  • Attempt to bypass security measures.

SAFA may suspend access without notice where misuse is suspected.


12. User Generated Content

Where the Platform allows users to submit comments, reviews or other content, users agree not to post material that is:

  • Offensive
  • Defamatory
  • Abusive
  • Discriminatory
  • Threatening
  • Unlawful
  • Infringing another person's rights

SAFA reserves the right to remove content without notice.


13. Live Match Coverage

SAFA TV broadcasts amateur football competitions for sporting, educational and promotional purposes.

By participating in competitions sanctioned or authorised by SAFA, clubs, players, coaches, officials and volunteers acknowledge that matches may be filmed, photographed and broadcast.

Broadcast footage may also be used in:

  • Highlights
  • Promotional videos
  • Social media
  • Historical archives
  • Educational material
  • News reporting

14. Third-Party Services

The Platform may integrate services provided by third parties, including payment providers, hosting providers and streaming technology partners.

SAFA is not responsible for the availability or content of third-party services beyond our reasonable control.


15. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with the SAFA TV Privacy Policy.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed as described in that policy.


16. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion would be unlawful, including liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

Subject to the above, SAFA shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of profits.
  • Loss of business.
  • Loss of opportunity.
  • Loss of goodwill.
  • Indirect or consequential loss.
  • Loss arising from interruptions to streaming services beyond our reasonable control.

Our total liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you to SAFA TV during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.


17. Force Majeure

SAFA shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure results from events beyond its reasonable control, including adverse weather, power failures, internet outages, industrial action, acts of government, pandemics or other unforeseen events.


18. Suspension and Termination

SAFA may suspend or terminate accounts where:

  • These Terms are breached.
  • Fraud is suspected.
  • Payment is unsuccessful.
  • The security of the Platform is compromised.
  • Continued access could adversely affect the Platform or other users.

19. Changes to These Terms

SAFA may amend these Terms from time to time.

Updated Terms will be published on SAFA TV and will take effect from the published effective date.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.


20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.


23. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and any applicable subscription terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and SAFA regarding your use of SAFA TV.Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights available to consumers under Scots law or other applicable legislation.
